Giving back to mother nature

Being explorers and adventurers does not need to be a hedonistic activity. We have access to places that few people can get to. Furthermore its in our own interest to give back and get involved in some measure of environmental awareness and conservation.

This is exactly what Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation  are doing.

Headed by the intrepid explorer Gregg Treinish, a National Geographic endorsed conservationist and adventurer, this group aims to bring adventurers and scientists together: Adventurers go places, and Scientists need field workers that can access difficult to get to places.

Together with Katie Smith(Media and Outreach) and Erin Johnson (Partnerships coordinator) they have connected countless expeditions to scientists that require data to be collected across the globe.

Right now they are collecting funds to bring students on data collection expeditions! Their target is $30,000 and they are collecting through crowdrise. Please support them!

You can follow them on facebook too, go and have a look, I know you want to.
