Tranquilitas Adventure Farm

Looking for a base camp while climbing a world-class crag? Or a maybe you are more inclined to cover distance with a mountain bike?

Nestled on the escarpment, Tranquilitas Adventure Farm is the ideal destination for individualistic adventure minded people in South Africa. Besides climbers and mountain bikers it also caters for hikers and nature loving escapees from nearby cities Johannesburg, Pretoria and Nelspruit.

Slackliners practice their obscure sport in the camp grounds and with the Elands River close by the occasional white water kayakers also make themselves at home here. Bird watchers may find the campsite a bit too busy for their hobby, but they can easily escape into undisturbed nature where they can spot raptors and other bird species of the Mpumalanga Escarpment.

The campsite is safe and well equipped, with clean ablutions,  a climbing boulder overhanging a swimming pool, a hall for larger events, communal fire places. There is a choice of accommodation: beautiful lawns for camping, tended camps furnished with beds, and cottages for those in need of more luxury.

Most activities occur on the property of the Mountain Club of South Africa, with some of the surrounding land owners also allowing access to their land. Visitors are conservation minded and free-spirited, which established the trademark eclectic culture of the venue.
